Letter to Watford Observer: BFG was amazing

12.15.50am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 5th May 2009

It was fantastic to see so many young children enjoying Watford Palace Theatre at last weeks performance of BFG.

The performance of such a complicated book came to life. Watching young people and children enjoying the story come alive on stage was inspiring. Even when the giants charged the stage the youngest in the audience did not scream. Although, I must admit, some adults, including myself, had a sharp intake breath as the actors and their brass instruments strutted towards us!

The theatre appeared to be full and I know from the buzz as we all left how many people enjoyed the performance. At a time we are all watching every penny it was great to see our local theatre so alive, and well loved is great. I know my children are now looking forward to the next time we can visit and see yet another performance come to life.
